Spring Tour to Great America, April 21 - 22

Spring Trip to Great America
Permission slips and health forms need to be filled out and returned by Wednesday, April 5. Both the Field Trip Parent Permission Slip and the Field Trip Authorization Form need to be filled in, signed and returned. These forms are available below.

This trip is open to all instrumental music students at Rocklin High. We will be participating in a competition festival with all of the groups. The cost is $200 and we have fundraising in place to help raise money to insure all students can participate.

Our trip starts at Rocklin High on Friday, April 21 at 7:45 am, where we'll meet in the band room and begin loading busses. We'll have lunch on our way at The Great Mall in Milpitas and arrive at our hotel in Santa Clara for a 12:45 pm check-in. We'll get in a little pool time at the hotel, then we change for the concerts, loading buses at 4:15 pm, arriving at Milpitas High School for performances at 5:00. Dinner is provided at the festival at 5:30.
  • Jazz Band performs at 6:55 pm
  • Orchestra performs at 8:10 pm
  • Band performs at 9:25 pm
We head back to the hotel after the last performance with room checks at 11 pm.

Saturday morning starts with breakfast at the hotel, which is provided. At 9:15 am we load busses and depart for Great America! The park opens at 10 am. While at Great America we'll have various check in times and locations (so musicians ... pay attention for this important information!) Lunch and dinner are on your own in the park. We'll all meet up at 5:00 PM to check in for the awards ceremony. After the award ceremony we'll load busses at 8 pm, arriving back home around 11:00 pm, where we'll unload equipment back into the band room. The full itinerary is available below.

Parents - How to Get Involved

Rocklin High Music Boosters is a group of dedicated parents whose mission is to support our Music Director and every student involved in the wide variety of instrumental music programs at Rocklin High. Fundraising events, football games, concerts, practices, performances, festivals, and trips are all part of a robust music program, and it takes a small village to put it all together. The Music Boosters are the small village. We are parents who are stakeholders in our children's education, and we believe in the life-long benefits of music education. We have a great team of parents, and we have a lot of fun supporting the music program.
